During the current COVID-19 pandemic, I have had time to create the LocoMotion Fitness website and plan for a bright fitness future for those of us with knee or hip replacements.
Since I have had this inactive downtime forced upon me, it has given me time to plan a new focus and direction for LocoMotion Fitness. I started out 1 year ago with an early Friday class and now have 2 midday classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Until now both classes have run the same playlist with the plan to make a few changes to the Thursday class to put more focus on toning and core fitness. It will still be a Zumba Gold® class but instead of the usual wide variety of world rhythms, the playlist will be dominated by tango, flamenco, and belly dance rhythms which will allow us to concentrate on specific muscle groups. The class will still be low impact, ensuring safety for knee and hip replacements, but the intensity will not come from cardio but more from strength. It will still be fun, it will still be a workout. It will be all about letting your inner “chica sexy” out. Ole!
Future blogs will include “nutrition nuggets” and “a rhythm section” in addition to what’s new, upcoming specials, and more talk about general fitness and wellness.
